What is Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is a type of performance-based marketing where a business rewards external partners (called affiliates) for generating traffic, leads, or sales through the affiliate's marketing efforts. In simple terms, affiliates promote a company’s products or services, and they earn a commission whenever their promotion results in a sale or other desired action.

  • Key Players:

    • Merchant (business selling the product)

    • Affiliate (promoter/marketer)

    • Consumer (customer buying the product)

    • Affiliate Network (sometimes acts as a bridge between merchants and affiliates)

  • Example: You share a product link on your blog or Instagram. When someone clicks that link and makes a purchase, you earn a commission.
